  • Cost: Free (provided by the South Dakota Office of Emergency Management)

📝 Registration Process (IMPORTANT )

  1. Event Smart (Approval Step)

  • Wait for approval email
  • You’ll need a FEMA Student ID (SID)
      • If you don’t have one, create it before registering
  •  Prerequisites (Must Be Completed BEFORE Class)

You need to complete all 4 FEMA online courses:

  • IS-100 (ICS 100)
  • IS-200 (ICS 200)
  • IS-700 (NIMS)
  • IS-800 (National Response Framework)

🎯 What You’ll Learn

This course builds on ICS 100/200 and focuses on:

  • Managing expanding incidents
  • Understanding NIMS command structure
  • Supervising during incidents
  • Creating an Incident Action Plan (IAP)
  • Running a simulated Type 3 incident

👥 Who Should Attend

  • Emergency management personnel
  • First responders
  • Anyone who may serve in a supervisory ICS role                                                                                                                                                            

⚠️ Important Rules     

  • Full attendance is required for certification
  • You’ll receive class materials ~5 days before start via email
  • If you cancel:   Notify as early as possible (2 weeks preferred)
