On-Scene Crisis Leadership and Decision Making

Sunday, October 21, 2018   (1-day course)

Martin, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm

This course is designed to equip leaders for crisis decision making using decision making models, pre‐incident action plans, and unified command.

The course will also review the roles and responsibilities of a leader and discuss critical thinking and situational awareness. Other key course topics include psychology of a crisis, tips and tools for combating stress, incident command, information sharing and scene size‐up.

Students will review different case studies from real-world incidents involving fertilizer‐grade ammonium nitrate and high hazard flammable trains.

Audience: Any personnel involved in on-scene decision making, to include incident commanders, first responders, elected officials, or commissioners.
