Medical Preparedness and Response for Bombing Incidents (MPRBI)

Monday, May 7 – Tuesday, May 8, 2018   (2-day course)

Rapid City, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm

This TEEX course trains participants in areas related to bombing incidents, such as identifying terrorist targets, understanding explosives’ characteristics, and recognizing bombing incident injury patterns. Also discussed  are resource management options, and considerations relating to strategy, command, operations, and tactics. Participants’ expertise will be used to facilitate operational and command level discussions related to techniques for scene assessment, triage, treatment and stabilization.

Audience: Though there is a large medical aspect, this course is relevant to any personnel involved in a bombing incident. This includes healthcare, public health, emergency management, EMS, fire service, law enforcement, bomb teams, search and rescue, CERT members, VOAD, and military.

Prerequisites: None

Noteworthy: This class has been certified as 16 hrs. of continuing education for EMS,BLS, or ALS providers.
