G366 Planning for the Needs of Children in Disasters

Tuesday, March 20, 2018   (1-day course)

Pierre, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm

The course will provide participants with the information needed to address the unique needs of children prior to, during, and following disasters. Topics covered will include what the needs of children are, meeting children’s needs during a response, and helping children recover from disaster.

This course will also enable participants to improve their community’s Mitigation and Emergency Operations Plan (EOP), specifically regarding the needs of children.

Audience: All personnel involved in planning processes for or involving children, to include first responders, emergency managers, school or district administrators, and daycare administrators.

Prerequisites: None

***This course counts towards FEMA’s Advanced Professional Series (APS)***

Noteworthy: This course may be used by school faculty and administration as continuing education credits through the Department of Education.

Noteworthy: This class has been certified as 7 hrs. of continuing education for EMS providers.
