The South Dakota Office of Emergency Management (SDOEM) created a training for emergency managers at the state, local, and tribal levels to give them a better understanding of the concepts of the profession.  This class helps to describe the important role of the emergency manager in communities.

The training lasts approximately seven hours and is designed to explore the role of the emergency manager within communities, as well as, the importance of before, during, and after an incident with local response agencies within each jurisdiction.

Two phases of Emergency Management (Recovery/Mitigation and Preparedness) and the activities of each phase are discussed to keep all of our communities safe.

Audience: This Class is Reserved for EMERGENCY MANAGERS.

Venue Information: You will receive specific training location information via e-mail when you have been approved to attend this course by the administrator. Please allow for up to 48 hours for this to occur.

To receive credit for training you must be present for the entire course.

You will receive specific class information via e-mail, approximately 5 days prior to class start.
