OEM will be hosting a virtual, FEMA-led Continuity of Operations Planning (COOP) 101 class on October 29th from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM CST. This training will be open to our state and county partners.
This training provides an opportunity for State agency continuity planners and county emergency managers to gain insight into the relevance and need for continuity planning. There will also be an opportunity for participants to ask questions regarding COOP.
While not required, it is recommended participants complete the IS1300.A Introduction to Continuity course available through National Disaster & Emergency Management University. The course takes roughly 60 minutes to complete and will give a baseline understanding of COOP concepts. To enroll, please visit: https://training.fema.gov/is/courseoverview.aspx?code=IS-1300.a&lang=en.
You will receive specific class information with the student materials/links via e-mail, approximately 5 days prior to class start.
**SD Office of Emergency Management is providing this training at no charge to participants.**
Canceling Registrations
- If a student can no longer attend a training they have registered for, they are asked to notify the State Training Officer as soon as possible prior to the date of class. At least 2 week’s notice is preferred, as then persons on waitlists can be let into the training with this notification. It is understood that certain circumstances may occur at times to prevent the giving of proper notification of cancelation.
