L0948 Situational Awareness/Common Operating Picture

Situational Awareness and Common Operating Picture (SA/COP) supports the Communications and Information Management component of the National Incident Management System (NIMS). Individuals and organizations at all levels of response have a responsibility to both contribute to and use reliable information as a part of incident response efforts. The SA/COP course is designed to improve skills, knowledge, and capabilities of individuals and organizations involved in domestic emergency preparedness, response, and recovery.
Concepts covered in this course include:
- Information gathering/dissemination
- Disaster response lessons learned
- Utilizing tech and social media during disasters
- Improving overall team communications and awareness
Target Audience: Any emergency management/response personnel or volunteer organizations that would be dealing with SA/COP during or after an incident. This class would also benefit anyone in a leadership position.
