Course Description
This course provides training for personnel who require advanced application of the Incident Command System (ICS). This course expands upon information covered in ICS 100 through ICS 300 courses, which are prerequisites for the ICS 400 course. Selection Criteria: The target audience for this course is senior personnel who are expected to perform in a management capacity in an Area Command or Multi-Agency Coordination Entity.
Audience: Emergency management or emergency response personnel that have the potential to utilize the Incident Command System for related incidents in their field.

- Explain how major incidents engender special management challenges.
- Describe the circumstances in which an Area Command is established.
- Describe the circumstances in which Multi-Agency Coordination Systems are established.

**Course Pre-requisite Certificates must be emailed to Colleen.Dryden@state.sd.us and approved prior to the start of the course.**
You will receive specific class information via e-mail, approximately 5 days prior to class start.
To receive credit for training you must be present for the entire course.
**SD Office of Emergency Management is providing this training at no charge to participants.**
Canceling Registrations
- If a student can no longer attend a training they have registered for, they are asked to notify the State Training Officer as soon as possible prior to the date of class. At least 2 week’s notice is preferred, as then persons on waitlists can be let into the training with this notification. It is understood that certain circumstances may occur at times to prevent the giving of proper notification of cancelation.
