G557 Rapid Needs Assessment – Pierre

8:30 am – 5:00 pm (CST)

You will receive specific class information with the student materials/links via e-mail, approximately 5 days prior to class start.

This is a one day course to give communities a baseline understanding of developing the plan/procedures for rapidly and efficiently collecting disaster intelligence immediately following a disaster, and plan an effective Damage Assessment Program. This intelligence is used to prioritize response activities, allocate available resources, and specifically request resources from other sources to save and sustain lives.

Audience: Emergency management, law enforcement, and any other personnel who are responsible for assessing, collecting, and reporting damages during and/or after any event that causes damage of private, public, and critical infrastructure.

***This is a required course to obtain the Advanced Professional Series (APS) certificate through FEMA***

To receive credit for training you must be present for the entire course. 

**SD Office of Emergency Management is providing this training at no charge to participants.**

Canceling Registrations

  • If a student can no longer attend a training they have registered for, they are asked to notify the State Training Officer as soon as possible prior to the date of class. At least 2 week’s notice is preferred, as then persons on waitlists can be let into the training with this notification. It is understood that certain circumstances may occur at times to prevent the giving of proper notification of cancelation.
