Prerequisites (Required Before Attending)
You must complete all 5 prerequisites and submit proof before the course begins:
Online Courses (FEMA Independent Study):
- IS-100: Course Overview IS-100
- IS-200: Course Overview IS-200
- IS-700: Course Overview IS-700
- IS-800: Course Overview IS-800
Classroom Course:
- ICS-300 (must be completed in person)

Course Description
This course builds on earlier ICS training (100–300) and focuses on advanced incident management for complex situations. It is designed for personnel operating at a senior or command level.
Target Audience
- Emergency management professionals
- Emergency response personnel
- Individuals expected to serve in:
- Area Command roles
- Multi-Agency Coordination positions
Course Objectives
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Explain management challenges during major incidents
- Identify when to establish an Area Command
- Describe when Multi-Agency Coordination Systems are needed
