All-Hazards Position Specific: L958 Operations Section Chief

Monday June 1st – Thursday June 4th, 2020   (4-day course)

Sioux Falls, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm

This course provides local- and state-level emergency responders with a robust understanding of the duties, responsibilities, and capabilities of an effective Operations Section Chief (OSC) on an All-Hazards Incident Management Team (AHIMT). These responsibilities fall into two categories: 1) responding to the incident and the command needs of the incident, and 2) effectively fulfilling the position responsibilities of an OSC on an AHIMT. Exercises, simulations, discussions, and a final exam enable participants to process and apply their new knowledge.

Course Objectives

Describe the duties, responsibilities, and capabilities of an effective Operations Section Chief on an All-Hazards Incident Management Team.

Audience: NIMS ICS All-Hazards training should be completed by personnel who are regularly assigned to Functional, Support, or Unit Leader positions on Type 3 or 4 AHIMTs, or by those persons who desire to seek credentials/certification in those positions.

Required prerequisites: IS- 100, 200, 700, 800; ICS 300, 400

Venue Information: You will receive specific training location information via e-mail when you have been approved to attend this course by the administrator. Please allow for up to 48 hours for this to occur.

To receive credit for training you must be present for the entire course.
